A lonely struggle, but one I will continue for Malaysia – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak

Former premier says his fight is rooted in principle and faith in the judiciary, calling Malaysians to remain calm, mature and respectful of the law

8:13 AM MYT

BROTHERS and sisters whom I respect,

I write this with a calm mind, although my heart is heavy.

There are times when I feel as if this struggle has to be shouldered by me alone. However, I remain determined to continue it, not because of revenge, but because of principle.

What I am demanding is only the rights provided by the law and what has been granted. My intention has never changed: to contribute to the development of the nation and the well-being of the people.

This struggle is not an attempt to avoid responsibility. It is an effort to uphold justice, to uphold the integrity of the Constitution, and to defend the sovereignty of the law implemented without fear or favour.

I will continue to seek my rights through lawful channels, with dignity and patience, even though the path is lonely and demands great sacrifice. Whatever the court decision, I remain confident in the nation’s judicial process.

In this regard, I ask all Malaysians to remain calm, rational and courteous, and not be influenced or involved in any provocation that could disrupt public harmony or insult the legal process. Differences of opinion must be expressed in a mature, orderly manner and based on the law.

I call upon all Malaysians to assess this matter calmly and rationally, not merely from the perspective of my fate as an individual, but for the sake of the future of our national institutions and the principles that we uphold together. –  December 27, 2025
