Trick Lama: Larry Sng on PBM, Sarawak’s future and his political journey | GE16

8:56 PM MYT

In this episode of Trick Lama, our hosts sit down with YB Datuk Larry Sng, President of Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) and Member of Parliament for Julau. Larry Sng talks about Sarawak’s growing political influence, its relationship with Sabah and the Federal Government, and how Sarawak has transformed into one of Malaysia’s high-income states.

He also opens up about his own political journey – from his family’s political legacy and his time in PKR, to why he eventually left the party and his relationship with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

As MP for Julau, one of Malaysia’s less-developed constituencies, he shares the realities of representing a rural community and the challenges of addressing poverty, development and access to opportunities. The conversation also explores PBM’s political aspirations, its plans to expand beyond Sarawak, the emerging Borneo bloc ahead of GE16, and whether PBM can establish itself as a genuine national political force.

Watch the full conversation and hear Larry Sng’s take on Sarawak, PBM and the future of Malaysian politics.
