Sultan of Perak recognises Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei for sporting excellence

The national badminton mixed doubles receive the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT) award

KUALA LUMPUR – National mixed doubles stars Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei were lauded for their stellar performances over the past year as they received top honours in conjunction with the 69th Birthday of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Tang Jie, 27, and Ee Wei, 25, received the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), while former national bowler Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi, 34, was awarded the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP).

The three athletes were among 205 recipients of state honours and medals presented at the investiture ceremony held at Istana Iskandariah, Bukit Chandan today.

Also present were the Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim; the Raja Muda Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; the Raja Di Hilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah; and the Raja Puan Muda Perak, Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife, Datin Aezer Zubir, were also in attendance.

Earlier in the ceremony, Hospital Teluk Intan pathology specialist Dr Abdul Kadir Rifaei Abd Rashid Khairi led the list of recipients for the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM).

Other honourees included the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Farah Adura Hamidi; the Senior Deputy Director of the State Economic Planning Unit, Haslinda Alias; and the Deputy Director of the Perak State Health Department, Dr Husna Maizura Ahmad Mahir, along with nine others.

Sultan Nazrin also posthumously awarded the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP) to former Ayer Kuning assemblyman Ishsam Shahruddin, who died of a heart attack on February 22, together with 25 other recipients.

The ceremony also saw 14 recipients of the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM), 39 recipients of the AMP, 57 recipients of the PPT, 46 recipients of the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and eight recipients of the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP). – November 15, 2025
